Hahaz~!i'm so happy

First reason why i'm happy was the PSLE , it's over~!

we prepare this important exam so long that it finaly finished~!

The second reason ... is ... i'm back ~! i mean back to China lah

And now , the time i wrote this post , is the time i go back ( at airport lah)

waiting now , need half hour more , but never mind , i still happy altough i'm bored now

SM Goh says schools must produce students for post-crisis world
Singapore's Senior Minister, Goh Chok Tong, said schools need to produce students who are ready to cope with a new post-crisis world. But as schools prepare students to seek opportunities overseas, Mr Goh said there is also the challenge to get them to think about Singapore when they are working abroad and contribute to their country of birth. Addressing the 70th anniversary gathering of Chung Cheng High School on Saturday evening, Mr Goh said countries which better educate their citizens today will out-perform others tomorrow. And so schools should prepare students to compete against their peers in Shanghai, Stockholm and San Francisco, and prepare them for economic opportunities in China and India. Mr Goh said: "We need to produce students who are world-ready, students who are informed about local and global affairs, students who are able to navigate in an emerging Asia and yet understand Western thought and management systems, and students who are capable of leading overseas businesses whether in the West or Asia." He said Singapore's students need to be imbued with entrepreneurial spirit to push boundaries, adapt to change and seize new opportunities and at the same time be reminded of their ties to Singapore. Mr Goh continued: "What we must try to achieve is to retain their emotional bonds to Singapore so that they think of Singapore as the home which nurtured them and want to contribute in some ways to the country of their birth. This is best done in schools while they are young." And while they may work overseas for prolonged periods, Mr Goh said the young must appreciate that their advancement is made possible by the society they grew up in and the investments of their parents, their teachers, their community and their government. Hence, they should not take the programmes to expose them both in and outside Singapore for granted. But Mr Goh also said by preparing students to be entrepreneurial, Singapore is also giving them wings. He said more than one fifth of top A-level students from some 10 years ago are not working in Singapore now. Still, Mr Goh said Singapore will not pull back on giving the young the best education and instead applaud those who wish to work and live overseas. Some 180,000 Singaporeans are currently based overseas.

Asian Youth Games torch relay kicks off
The Asian Youth Games (AYG) torch relay kicked off Sunday morning with the Community and Corporate Leg. Held over two days, day one of the relay saw the torch travel through three different routes covering five districts across Singapore. The flame lighting ceremony was held early Sunday at the Kallang Waterfront. Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council Teo Chee Hean was at the event. The flame then fanned out across the island in buses to arrive at the start of the three routes, named after the Olympic values of Friendship, Excellence and Respect. At Yio Chu Kang stadium, Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had the honour of being the first torch bearer to start the relay. Over at the Republic Polytechnic in the north of Singapore, other Ministers and VIPs also took part in the historic run. Said Zainudin Nordin, torch bearer and Mayor of the North District: "We want to celebrate us organising the AYG, at the same to understand that sports is a really wonderful platform for us to get to know each other and for us to bond with the people together." Shoppers and tourists caught a sight of the torch as it was carried along Orchard Road. A total of 70 torchbearers were involved in day one of the relay. The final torch bearer for the day was Sports Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who ran from Marina Square to the Games Village at Swissotel the Stamford. The torch relay will resume on Monday for the Schools leg, with the flame travelling to 45 schools around Singapore, where over a hundred runners will have the honour of carrying the torch. Day two of the relay will resume on Monday for the Schools leg, where the flame will travel to 45 schools around the country. The relay will end at the Indoor Stadium where three athletes will run in with the torches and light the cauldron as part of the Opening Ceremony celebrations.

S'pore confirms 89 new H1N1 cases, bringing total number to 454
27 June 2009

Singapore has confirmed 89 new cases of H1N1, bringing the total tally to 454 confirmed cases. The Health Ministry said in addition to these 89 new cases, 53 other cases were pending investigation on Friday. Of these 142 cases, 65 have been investigated. They comprise 34 local cases, 31 imported cases, while the remaining 77 cases are still being investigated. The 34 new local cases include 10 new cases in the Republic Polytechnic cluster and seven new cases in the Maju Camp cluster. There are also two new cases in the Tekong cluster and both are full-time national servicemen. In addition, there is a new cluster from an NUS Orientation Camp comprising three new cases and one previously unlinked case.

2nd H1N1 death in UK
LONDON - BRITAIN suffered its second death from H1N1 flu late on Saturday after a 73-year-old man with serious previous health problems died from the virus in a Scottish hospital, Scotland's health minister said on Sunday.
'Although it is concerning that the patient had swine flu, we are aware that the patient had very serious underlying health issues,' said Scottish Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon.
'It's important to remember that the vast majority of those who have H1N1 are suffering from relatively mild symptoms,' she added.
Europe's first death from H1N1 flu, commonly known as swine flu, occurred in Scotland on June 14. -- REUTERS

22 S'poreans injured in Genting bus crash
GENTING HIGHLANDS: A busload of passengers cheated death after the bus they were in skidded, crashed into two cars before landing on its side at Km4.8 Jalan Genting Highlands here yesterday.
The passengers -- 22 Singaporeans and five Malaysians -- suffered minor injuries and received outpatient treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Bentong police chief Superintendent Rosli Abdul Rahman said the bus was heading towards Kuala Lumpur when it developed brake problems at about 3.30pm.
He said the bus was travelling downhill when it collided with a Proton Gen-2, skidded to the opposite side of the road and crashed into a Nissan Sentra, before hitting the road barrier and landing on its side.
Rosli said all passengers were helped out of the wreck by passers-by and taken to hospital.The driver, identified as Rajan Manan, blamed the incident on brake failure.
"I realised there was a problem with the brakes when the bus did not slow down when I applied the brakes, but by then it was too late."
The 41-year-old was trapped in the wreck and had to be pulled out by Fire and Rescue Department personnel.
Rajan has been a driver for the past 13 years.

Development of H1N1 in Singapore
22 June 2009
As of 21 June, Singapore has 142 confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1). More evidence has emerged that the Influenza A (H1N1) virus is now being spread in the local community amongst Singaporeans who have no recent travel history.
There are now 3 clusters in Singapore where the H1N1 virus is known to have been transmitted locally. The first is the Riverlife Church in Loyang, where 7 cases were traced. The second cluster is the National University of Singapore. 3 people were previously reported to have caught the virus there and another one is believed to be linked to them. The third cluster is the newly opened Butter Factory club in One Fullerton, where there are 3 confirmed cases and 1 suspect case.
MOH is now advising anyone who visited Butter Factory last Wednesday night (17 June) to monitor their health closely and seek medical help if they are feeling unwell.
